He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, Leland Koehler (Amber) and Kevin Koehler; his grandchildren, Leighton and Raegan Koehler; his siblings, Joe Koehler (Barb), Rich Koehler (JoAnn), Ed Koehler (Rosemarie), Jerry Koehler, Virginia Barns (Jerry) and Dave Koehler (Traci); and his fiancée Lorraine Tolkacevic. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
