He was predeceased by: his siblings, John Tunney and Roseanne Helterbran. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lunn Tunney; his sons, Jeffrey Jr. (Teresa) of Raleigh, N. C. and James Jr. (Maureen) of Raleigh, N. C.; his grandchildren, Morgan, Emelia, Joseph Tunney, Sean Tunney and Aidan Tunney; and his siblings, Mary Margaret Nichols (Frank) of Manlius, N. Y. and Joseph Tunney (Patty) of Louisville.
