He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Shields and Mary Shields (Baker); his grandparents, Charles and Mary Baker; his son Joshua Shields; and his brothers, Mark and Michael Shields.
He is survived by: his close friend Janie Dalton of Seneca; and his sister Denise Shields of Pittsburgh.
