He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline "Polly" K. Derstine (Gerhard); his parents, D. Walter Derstine and V. Marie Derstine (Sturm); and his brother Dennis Derstine. He is survived by: his sons, James W. Derstine, Jr. (Kim Eubanks) of Quakertown and Douglas Derstine (Kimberly) of Lansdale; his grandchildren, Justin Derstine (Laura) of Quakertown, Jessica of Lansdale, Amanda of Lansdale, Matthew of Lansdale and Jacob Derstine of Lansdale; and his great grandchild Hope Emily Derstine of Quakertown.
