He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Anne Marie Bearns (Litsch); his parents, Robert William Bearns and Eleanor Batman (Miller); his son Nicholas Edward Bearns of Montgomeryville, PA; and his siblings, Robert Bearns of Quakertown, Lori Bickel (Larry) of Coopersburg, PA and Sherry Mehring (Walter) of Coopersburg.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (606 Arch St, Perkasie, PA 18944). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory (606 Arch St, Perkasie, PA 18944).

“Gary was a great, humble and kind man. He was friends with 2 of my brothers from "way back" in Ottsville. Most recently he delivered fuel to our depot. He was always diligent and responsible, never missed a delivery and took his job serious. He was kind and always took a moment to chat. We will miss him! Thank you Gary. May you rest in peace! Plumstead Township Public Works crew.”
