He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Barger; and his son Charles A. Barto. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Barto; his daughters, Carol Klein (Terry), Linda Baier (James), Mary Barto and Barbara Barto; his daughter-in-law Andrea Barto; and his stepchildren, Frances Pieninck (Geoffrey), Nancy Whetstone and James Hunter.
