He was predeceased by: his wife Dolly; his parents, James Gilligan and Catherine Gilligan; and his brothers, Jack and Tom.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Devine (Tim), James Gilligan (Sharon), Stacie Gilligan and Kelly Smith; his grandchildren, Shaun Gilligan (Tessa), Casey Gilligan, Maddy Gilligan, Samantha Devine LaFlame (AJ), Summer Garmon, Jeffrey Smith, Erika Smith and Devine; and his stepgrandchildren, Timothy, Trish, Todd, Tom and Troy. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
