He was predeceased by: his parent Eric F. Zimmerman; and his wife Elizabeth J. Zimmerman Nee. He is survived by: his parent Miriam Winther Zimmerman; and his sons, Donald R. Zimmerman of Wagontown, PA, James E. Zimmerman of East Liverpool, OH and Edward A. Zimmerman of Folsom, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
