Of Secane Pa. Passed peacefully on March 23, 2022 while surrounded by her loving husband Dudley Henriques, Granddaughter Jennifer Wagner, Grandson John Borders, Son Harold Borders, and lifelong friend Ruth Gauzza.
She was 99 1/2 years old.
Wife of Harold W Borders Sr who died in 1964 and Dudley Henriques her second husband, she was the devoted mother of five children and the much loved matriarch of five generations.
Bea is survived by her daughter Janet Rogers and her husband Steve, son Harold and his wife Susan, son Richard, and son John and his fiancé Kelly. Her beloved son David passed in 2007.
She is also survived by a brother Ralph, 9 Grandchildren, and many Great Grand and Great Great Grandchildren.
Born in Altoona Pa, she moved with her family to Philadelphia around 1938 where she met her first husband Harold who was stationed in Philadelphia with the U S Army. They married in 1942 and had 3 children. In 1955 they moved to Secane where they continued to expand their family.
After Harold’s death in 1964 she met Dudley Henriques, a commercial pilot. They married in 1979. Together they built a wonderful life spanning 57 years as the family continued to grow and prosper.
Bea was an Avon Representative for 65 years where she attained President’s Club status. She also sold real estate for many years with Century 21.
She was as well a founding member of the Primos-Secane swim club. She loved to travel and toured both the United States and Europe with family and close friends.
In her youth Bea was an avid hiker which she continued to do well into her 80’s. Bea and Dudley could regularly be seen walking hand in hand in their neighborhood until a few years ago.
Bea was a member of Sayers Memorial Methodist Church in Philadelphia for many years until she moved to Secane where she joined Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. She was a member there for over 60 years and sang regularly in the choir with many of her friends.
Bea was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Wife, and friend to many. She had a genuine joy of living that she shared freely with everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30PM Friday, April 15th at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 2545 Franklin Ave in Secane.
