He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Andrew and Blanche Matthews (Wilkinson); his sister Joan Conrad; and his nephew Matthew Conrad. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Matthews (Ott); his children, Arthur Robert Matthews, Jr. and Denise Lynn Hart; his grandchildren, Bobby Matthews, Shawn Matthews, Lauren Nicole Germscheid, James Germscheid and Shannon Hart; his great grandchildren, Starlynn, Knight, Max and Sonnett; and his sister-in-law Judy Laskey.
