He was predeceased by: his parents, William Holmes and Margaret Bakaysa Holmes; his son Brendan; and his sister Marjorie Smedile. He is survived by: his sons, Robert P. and William (Kimberly) of Chesapeake, VA; his grandchildren, Sierra Holmes, Brianna Holmes Raborg (Chase) and Connor Holmes; and his siblings, Mary Lee Holmes (Joe Rhodes), Owen, Taylor and Gerald (Barbara). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
