It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John S. Gombita of Scranton, Pennsylvania, born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 19, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Kathryn Marie Gurka; his parents, Joseph Gombita and Alice Krisiak Gombita; and his brothers, Joseph Jr. and David.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lore Vadella (Michael), Kingsley, Heidi Rowe (Richard) and Jackie Dragwa (Thomas); his brothers, Walter (Steven Gombita), Simpson, Robert Gombita and Mark Gombita; his grandchildren, Anthony Vadala, Christopher, Bradley Rowe, Amanda Mead, Nicholas, Nichole and Nathalie Dragwa; and his great grandchildren, Raegan, Wyatt and Reese. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
