He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Hendry and Lillian Spearmint Hendry; his son Thomas; and his sister Evelyn Walush. He is survived by: his stepfather Samuel Spearmint; his wife Nellie Mae Townend; and his children, Eugene, John Jr. (Sheri) and Patricia (Bill).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home (1240 St Ann St, Scranton, PA 18504). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
