He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Gavin and Linda Ford Gavin; and his siblings, Vincent, Edward, Paul, Robert, Francis, Marie Schmidt, Doloris Wysock and Ann Gavin.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Leonard; his grandson John Gavin III of Olyphant; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Murazzi (John) of Scranton, Marie Naro Gavin of Dunmore, Helen Leonard of Dunmore and Betty Leonard of Scranton.
