He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Sr. Atherton and Edith Northup Atherton; his daughter Dana Elizabeth Atherton; and his siblings, Judy McLain, Helen Hummel and Raymond Atherton.
He is survived by: his children, James Robert Atherton (Tracy Brunson) and Jessica Stahl (Brian); and his grandchildren, Rhys, Anya Atherton, Claire, Aaron Stahl, Hunter and Lola Brunson.
