Harriett I. Gelb Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 8, 2025, at the age of 102, Harriett I. Gelb of Scranton, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Carl A. Gelb; her parents, Samuel Isaacs and Celia Adler Isaacs; her daughter Betsy Gelb White Claro; and her brother Herbert Isaacs.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Siham; her friend Irene Ruffman; her caregivers, Meghan Drag, Debbie Amico, Amanda Marie Ormes, Paula Guse, Heather Valenzano and Tabitha Cordova; her daughter Cynthia Gelb (Matt Mason) of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Kimberly White Horowitz of Wallingford, CT, Justin S. White (Rita Hamad) of Brookline, MA and Ashley White Brzezinski of Wallingford, CT; her great grandchildren, Layal White-Hamad, Noah, Elijah, Micah and Isaiah Brzezinski; and also Tim. She is also survived by her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Temple Israel Cemetery West Warren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions in Harriett's memory may be made to Temple Israel of Scranton, 918 E. Gibson Street, Scranton, PA 18510; or to the donor's favorite charity.
