He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Chesek and Mary Rutkowski Chesek; and his siblings, Joseph, Robert and Elizabeth Pratt.

He is survived by: his children, Edward (Lindene), David (Amy), Michael (Laurie), Taylor, Joseph (Donna), Gary (Sandy), Donald (Mary Liz), Christopher (Danielle), Karen Marie Reidenbach (Tom Mancuso) and Andria Bohl (Tyson); and his grandchildren, Edward, Lauren, Alyssa, Joseph, Nicole, Erin, Kayle, Liane, Eric, Theresa, Kristen, Paul, Daniel, Anthony and Christopher. He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
