He was predeceased by: his parents, Benedict Vanisky and Stephanie Vanisky (Futyma); and his brother Edward Vanisky. He is survived by: his wife Adele Vanisky (Odzer); his sons, Doug Vanisky and Gregory Vanisky; his grandchildren, Bode, Mavin and Lena; his daughter-in-law Clarisa; and his siblings-in-law, Olivia Joorman and Carl Joorman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
