He was predeceased by: his wife Gwen Burke; his parents, Thomas Burke and Sophie Beckman Burke; and his siblings, Elizabeth Kuhnow, Thomas and Albert P. Burke.

He is survived by: his son James T. Burke; his granddaughter Alexa; and his brother John Burke of Huntington Station, NY. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, and a stepson; six step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
