We are sad to announce that on August 20, 2022, at the age of 91, Ernestine R. Schaefer of Scotrun, Pennsylvania, born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Litts and Virginia Litts (Counterman); her daughter Tina Marie Rickenbach; and her siblings, Carolyn Smallacombe and George Litts.
She is survived by: her husband Marcus Oliver Schaefer; her children, Linda Lesoine (Jack Jr.) of Stroudsburg, Kitty Possinger (Nyles) of Snydersville, Amy Jo Schaefer (Barbara Bendall) of Cresco and Mark Schaefer of Los Angeles, CA; her son-in-law Chris Rickenbach of Wernersville; her grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Josh Lesoine, Christina Rickenbach, Ryan and Kyle Possinger; and her brother-in-law Austin Smallacombe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 1160 Clause Dr., Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or to Meals on Wheels of Monroe County, 901 Polk Valley Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or a charity of choice.
