He is survived by: his spouse Christel Nowak (Meier); his children, Oliver Nowak (Madeline) of Pittsburgh and Claudia Leheste (Joerg) of Waconia, Minnesota; his sisters, Jenny Schopf (Richard) of Abenheim, Germany and Gisela Holl of Worms, Germany; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob, Thomas Nowak, Paul and Olivia Leheste.
