He was predeceased by: his brothers, Mark Germes and John Germes. He is survived by: his wife Bernadette; his children, Stephanie of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania., James David Jr. of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania., Samantha of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania. and William of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania.; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Kameron, Isabella, Jackson, Evaliese and Amileya; his brothers, Stephen Germes (Suzanne), Topeka of Kansas and Peter Germes of Wichita Kansas; and his siblings-in-law, Claudia Germes of Wichita Kansas, Stephen Mickelson of Quakertown Pennsylvania and Edward Mickelson (Debbie) of Quakertown Pennsylvania.
