He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Bessie (Miller) and Lewis John Scheithauer. He is survived by: his close friend Mary Mager of Schuylkill Haven; his son Nicholas R. Scheithauer (Brittany Myrick); his stepchildren, David Houtz (Krysta) and Amy Houtz; his close friend Butch Young; his granddaughter Emma Jean Lazarchick; and his sisters, Cindy, Bridget and Holly.

Stretch was a member of Locust Valley Fish and Game, Schuylkill Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
