Iona Ann Pretti Obituary
Iona Ann Pretti, 83, passed away Sunday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Waterville, Maine, Oct. 11, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Victor T. and Hannah E. Phillip Williams. Iona was a Korean War veteran and served in the Air Force, where she met and married her husband of 32 years, Charles Pretti, on Jan. 15, 1955.
Iona was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. Her favorite addiction was bingo, then more bingo. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, she especially loved rooting for David Ortiz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pretti, on Dec. 25, 1987; children, Henry, on Aug. 16, 1966 and Michelle, on Oct. 15, 1967; a sister, Mary Pennacchi, on April 16, 2015; a niece, Linda Pretti O'Reilly, on Jan. 16, 2011.
Iona is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Pretti, Shillington; a son, Charles Pretti and wife, Karen, Seltzer; nephews, Richard Pennacchi, California, Steven Pretti and Keith Pretti, both of Pennsylvania, and Kyle Pretti, Illinois; a niece, Ruth Welch, Maine. Prayer services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, with the Rev.
Ronald J. Minner officiating. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at 1 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
