He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene P. McDermott and Mabel L. McDermott (Goodacre); and his siblings, Ann Fallon, Eugene McDermott and Clifford McDermott.

He is survived by: his wife Debby (Miller); his children, Susan A. Giaccio (John) of Cranford, NJ, Scott T. Larsen of Vero Beach, FL, Brendan J. McDermott (Christina) of San Francisco, CA and Molly Neron (Mike) of Medford, OR; his grandchildren, Brooke, Dana, Amy, Joseph, Margaret, Colby, Teagan, Gabriello and Olivia; and his great grandchildren, Angelina, Vincent and Sophie. He is also survived by his wife enjoyed entertaining friends and family.
