It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Shaffer (Schellsburg, Pennsylvania), born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 29, 2017, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Roy E.; her granddaughter Shelley Heider; her great grandchild Caleb Nolt; her great great grandchild Addison Grandi; and her siblings, Joan Winegardner, Byron Miller, Jay Miller and Clair Miller.
She is survived by: her parent Edna Miller (Kinzey); her spouse Nelson V. Shaffer; her children, Joyce of Schellsburg, Manns Choice of Schellsburg, Donna of Schellsburg, Tom of Schellsburg, Barry of Schellsburg, Linda of Schellsburg, Lorna of Schellsburg, Perry of Schellsburg and Carol; her grandchildren, Tracy Shaffer, Stacey Bontrager (Shaffer), Sherry Shaffer, Dacia Reid (Soliday), Brian Barkley, Denise Nolt (Soliday), Beth Schwanekamp (Barkley), Ann Kepner (Shaffer), Scott Shaffer, Shannon Shaffer, Ken Davidson, Shawn Davidson and Jeff Davidson; and her brothers, Dayton Miller of Schellsburg and Mark Miller. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
