It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Elizabeth O'Connell (Sayre, Pennsylvania), who passed away on July 4, 2019, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Peterpaul and Victoria Peterpaul (Corbo); her husband Robert J. O'Connell; her brother Jeremiah; her sister-in-law Kay Peterpaul; her sister Hortense (Tansy); her brother-in-law Frank Ennis; her sister Leona; her brother-in-law Thomas O'Leary; her sister Matilda Peterpaul; and her son-in-law Xavier Chatard.
She is survived by: her children, Anne Umbrecht (Richard) of Villanova, PA, Mary Rich (Daryl) of Sayre, PA, Barbara O'Connell of Eurre, France, Jean O'Connell Jenkins of Pittsburgh, PA, Ellen O'Connell Benedetto of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert O'Connell (Pat) of Baltimore, MD, Elizabeth O'Connell of Washington, DC and Nancy Beardsley (Robert) of Waverly, NY; her grandchildren, Brian Rich (Colleen), Lauren Rudloff (Bryan), Richard Umbrecht, Laura Umbrecht, Michael Umbrecht, Jack O'Connell, Danny O'Connell, Taylor Jenkins and Lucas Beardsley; her great grandchildren, Ava, Alex Rich, Colton, Brynn and Luke Rudloff; and also Komba Keita. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
Laura's family asks that memorial contributions be made in her name to Sayre Public Library, 122 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA 18840.
