He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Cummings Burkhart and Jacob Burkhart; his daughter Karen Lynch Burkhart; his wife Mary Hogan of Waverly; his siblings, Francis, James, Kate Smith Semple and Gladys Henrich; and his siblings-in-law, William Henrich, James Smith, William Semple and Jenny Insogna Burkhart.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph (Dolores Farrell), Kathleen, James, Michael (Maureen Crowley), Patrick (Michelle Munn), Lisa Jarvis (Glenn), Ellen Weiland (Ronald) and William (Marco Laterreur).
