He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Owen and Arvada Whitfield (Stevenson); his spouse Robert Eugene Reed; his son Joey Reed; and his brother John Whitfield.

He is survived by: his children, Brenda Martin (Chuck), Rick Reed (Sue) of Saxton, Robert Reed (Becki) of Saxton and Kevin Reed of Saxton; and his sisters, Gladys Roman of Saxton and Marion Ayers of Martinsburg. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist them with final expenses.
