He was predeceased by: his parents, Cynthia Ames (Bown) and Frank Ames; and his son Richard L. Ames. He is survived by: his wife Joan L. Ames (Buckler); his daughters, Philippa Toncini Ames-Friend (Rod) and Barbara Ames-Meneilly (Brad); his grandchildren, Devon Toncini Vorse (Christopher), Adam Toncini (Melissa), Blaec Toncini (Zari), Ian Meneilly, Owen Meneilly, Kyle Friend (Wendy) and Morgan Friend Warfel (Toby); and his great grandchildren, Avery Vorse, Isaac Vorse, Elijah Vorse, Oscar Vorse, Elisa Toncini, Asher Toncini (Stuart), Harper Toncini, Layana Toncini, Vivienne Friend and Willow Friend.
