He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Opitz and Sarah Opitz (Stone); his wife Mary I. Opitz (Hersman); his siblings, Dale, Gordon and Betty Martin (Bob); and his great grandchild Jaxon Anisansel.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Opitz (Jacki), David Opitz (Patti), Carol Myhand (Ricky) and Cheri Opitz; his sister Peg Vance (Bill); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley and Eileen Opitz. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
