He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Sanders and Gladys Stafford Sanders; his grandparents, Edward and Dora Sanders; his stepmother Audrey Sanders; and his sister Joyce Peters.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Sanders of Sandy Lake; his children, William Sanders of Sandy Lake, Karen Bryer (Joe) of Linesville and Edward Jr. Sanders (Marilyn) of Sandy Lake; and his brothers, Philip Sanders of Edinboro and Paul Sanders of Erie.
