He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brown and Ruth Brown (Schaffer); and his siblings, Sally, B. J. and William.
He is survived by: his wife Mary (Povinelli); his children, Anna J. Brown, Ruthie Tice (Bob), Joseph Brown (Robin) and MaryKate Joseph (Andy Lisicky); his granddaughters, Emily and Hannah Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Valentine Povinelli (Barbara) and Anne Ohlrogge. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
