He was predeceased by: his father James Heindl, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Carol Filer Heindl; his wife Amber Hanson Heindl; and his siblings, James Heindl, Jr. (Kathy) of St. Marys, David Heindl (Tina) of Penfield, Kevin Heindl of Wyoming, Sherry Fritz (Jake) of Kersey and Nancy Hillebrand (Matt) of St. Marys. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
