He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schutz and Rita Smith Schutz; his son-in-law Mark Wendel; his brother Bernard Schutz; and his daughter Susan M. Schutz (Frey).
He is survived by: his children, Donna Wendel of St. Marys, Valerie Schutz of Virginia, Apryle Ovell of Georgia and Richard W. Schutz, Jr. of St. Marys; his grandchildren, Brendan Wendel, Kaylee Fulkerson, Richard Schutz, III, Samantha Schutz, Harley Ovell and Alyn Ovell; his great grandchild Michel; and his siblings, Patricia Brennen (Tom) of St. Marys, Dyanne Kerfoot (John) of Treasure Lake and William Schutz (Sandy) of St. Marys. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
