He was predeceased by: his son George "Ted"; his former wife Helen "Sissy" Goodrow Johnston; his daughter Debbie Kronenwetter; and his siblings, Ramona Mallison and Leo Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Aloha Wegemer Johnston; his daughters, Patty Salter (Tim) of St. Marys and Linda Wolf (Ron) of St. Marys; his grandchildren, Nicki Stahl (Robin), Robbie Johnston (Angie), Shelbi Salter, Jim Wolf (Kim) and Janel Wolf; his great grandchildren, Richard "RJ" Johnston, Ashlee Johnston, Cody Stahl and Seth Stahl; his stepchildren, Leah Frey (Mike), Stanley Jesberger (Jean), Kurt Jesberger (Donna), Eric Jesberger (Missy) and Gordon Jesberger (Sherry); and his sister-in-law Nonie Krug. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
