It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Schaefer Jr. (Saint Marys, Pennsylvania), who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. "Bill" Schaefer, Sr. and Viola Young Schaefer; his in-laws, Wilfred and Elenora Olson; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Olson, Wilfred Olson, Clem Nagley, Pauline Olson, Edith Olson and Tina Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann Olson; his children, Kimberly A. Lynch (John) of St. Marys, Scott A. Schaefer (Deborah) of Reinsholds, PA, Dawn M. Meyer (John) of Bradford, PA and Michelle L. Schaefer of St. Marys, PA; his grandson Noah J. Meyer of Coraopolis, PA.; his siblings, Beverly Nagley and Chris Schaefer (Pam) of St. Marys; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas and Eileen Erich of St. Marys. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home & Cremation Services (151 N Michael St, St Marys, PA 15857). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of the World Church (134 Queens Rd, St Marys, PA 15857).
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, or to Queen of the World Church.
