He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schoppen and Dorothy Schoppen (Eisenriech); his son Mike Schoppen (Julie); and his sister Dorothy Ann. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Schoppen (Schmidt); his children, Kathy Nobbs (Rick) and Joe Schoppen (Doreen); his daughter-in-law Julie Schoppen; and his grandchildren, Max Schoppen (Kayla), Melissa Schoppen, Michelle (Seth), Scott Schoppen, Alex Schoppen and Olivia Schoppen.

The family suggests in leu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
