With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas A. Schlabach of Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, born in Alden, New York, who passed away on January 15, 2021 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Douglas A. Schlabach to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schlabach and Dorothy Heist Schlabach; and his siblings-in-law, Richard G. Straub and Barbara Williams of Muncy, PA.. He is survived by: his wife Theresa M. "Teri" Straub; his daughter Beth Horvatin (Bill Ruprecht) of St. Marys; his grandson Eric Jesberger (Amber); his great grandchildren, Olivia Wright of Freedom, PA and Roman Jesberger (Erica Sabolcik); his siblings, Connie Smith (Rich) of Alexander, NY, Peggy LeBaron (Don) of Corfu, NY, Thomas Schlabach (Linda) of Lubbock, TX and Gary Schlabach (Cindy) of Alden, NY; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Straub of DuBois and Paul Straub of Tacoma, WA.; and also, Ronnie and Macy Schull of Johnsonburg.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required and social distancing is to be observed. Although this virus has taken Doug from the Schlabach family, Teri and her family would like to remind all of us the importance of caring for ourselves and our community members, especially during this pandemic.
To honor Doug's dedication to charitable work, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity of one's choice.
