He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter U. DeMatteis and Anna Marterella DeMatteis; his former wife Mary Jo; and his brother-in-law Tony Andreassi. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Reed Crissman; his daughters, Shari DeMatteis (Eric Chapman) of Charleston, SC and Lisa Littlejohn (Steve) of Butler, PA; his stepchildren, Glenn Crissman (Roseann) and Justine Crissman (Dino Dinsmore) of St. Marys; his grandchildren, Mario Conti, Merritt Penrod, Brendon, Hayden Littlejohn, Noah and Gavin Crissman; his great grandchild Calli; and his sister Gertie Andreassi.
