He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Buerk and Henrietta "Mutchie" Ruehl Buerk; his nephew Gilbert "Gibby" Buerk; and his sister-in-law Wanda Russell. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Evans Buerk; his children, Renee Buerk (Shawn Lecker) of St. Marys and Ryan Buerk of St. Marys; and his siblings, John Buerk (Mary) of St. Marys, Diane Samick (Kurt) of St. Marys, Glenn Buerk of St. Marys and Rick Buerk of St. Marys. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
