He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Blakeslee and Lauretta Martin Blakeslee; his grandson Evan Blakeslee; his siblings, Edward "Ted" Blakeslee and Marilyn Hannold; and his close friend Dale Denison.
He is survived by: his wife Sue C. Eells of Saegertown; his children, Eccles (Daniel) of State College, Pennsylvania, Kenneth R. Blakeslee (Marilyn) of Guys Mills, Daryl E. Blakeslee (April) of Bellefonte and Scott A. Blakeslee (Denise) of Allegheny; his sisters, Donna Hart of Meadville, Elaine Lener of Sarasota and Lauretta Blakeslee of Meadville; and his daughter Julie Denison of Meadville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
