He was predeceased by: his parents, Elton Cable and Margaret Cable (Fox). He is survived by: his wife Mabel E. Yeck; his children, Christopher Cable (Nancy) of Dallas, TX and Carolyn Blinsmon (Brad) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Ryan Cable (Isabel), Dr. Tracy Cable (Barrett Davis) and Heather Blinsmon; his great grandchild David Cable; and his brothers, Clair Cable (Monchaya), Bangkok and Thailand.
He was the recipient of two year-long National Science Foundation Fellowships, a National Defense education Act Fellowship, two summer-length national Science Foundation Fellowships and a summer-length General Electric Fellowship.
