He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. McKinney and Emaline McKinney (Herrington); and his siblings, Victoria Rupp and Regis McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Sherri A. McKinney (Zablo); his son Eric M. McKinney (Sarah) of Butler; and his grandson Benjamin O. McKinney.
