We bid farewell to Gertrude Sallade (Russellton, Pennsylvania), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 6, 2025 at the age of 98. Gertrude touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernst Doettlinger and Paula Doettlinger (Kammerer); her husband Wayne Sallade; and her brother Ernst Doettlinger. She is survived by: her children, Leroy Sallade (Beth) of Medford, NJ, Evie Varshine (Don) of Cranberry Township and Bill Sallade (Bonnie) of Gridley, CA; her grandchildren, Chris, Jeff, Melissa, Kimberly, Stephen, Michael, Chad and Shelley; her nephews, Ernie and Mark Doettlinger; and her sister-in-law Vivian Sarniak of Harwick. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Siwicki - Yanicko Funeral Home (23 McKrell Rd, Russellton, PA 15076). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to The St. Barnabas Free Care Fund or to The Humane Society.
