She was predeceased by: her husband William James Jeffries; her parents, Jesse Baxter and Helen Baxter (Liebfried); and her son Randall. She is survived by: her children, Jay (Ginny), Ted (Sally) and Susan Bartlett (Preston). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Jean's most valued memory was when she was awarded the Legion of Honor Award given by the Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation.
