He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Sargent Sr. and Mary Coburn Sargent; and his siblings, Fred, Erma Murphy, Candy Delp, Esther Motter, Florence Phenicie and Geraldine Sargent.
He is survived by: his wife Linda G. Sargent; his children, Matthew Sargent Jr. (Kelly) and Melissa Sargent of Rouseville; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Matthew Sargent; and his brother Carl Sargent Jr. of Oil City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
