He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Pettyjohn and Bessie Ray Pettyjohn; his wife Ella Mae Glenn Pettyjohn; his son Willie Pettyjohn, Jr.; his granddaughter Justina Underwood; his great grandchildren, John and Ja'waun Minnie; and his brother Loyd Pettyjohn.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Minnie of Belle Vernon, Catherine Clark of Donora, Rosemary Larkin (Leonard) of North Carolina, Jacqueline Washington of Rostraver Township and David Pettyjohn of Rostraver Township. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; and twenty six great great grandchildren.
