He is survived by: his children, Karen Leventhal (Edward) of Brookeville, MD and Howard Balis of White Oak; his grandchildren, Zachary and Alyssa Leventhal; his brother Edwin Balis (Susie) of Churchill; and his cousin Ed Shaffer (Karen) of Murrysville.
