He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril A. Sr. and Elizabeth (Barwick); and his sisters, Elizabeth Polanowski and Mary Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Arlene R. Schmitt (Sterling); his children, Curtis (Donna), Cheryl Borrelli (Darryl), Maryann Stawowczyk (Ed), Lisa Silver (David), Lori Campagna (Sean) and Scott (Christine); his great grandchildren, Noel, Kateri, Briella, Lorenzo, Amina and Eliana; and his siblings, George Schmitt (Sue), Norma Bond (James), James Schmitt (Pat), Catherine Schmitt and Barb Buczynski (Rick).
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc. (4201 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227). A prayer was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Holy Cross Parish (1 Grove Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15236). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
